And Then I Say, Wait A Minute Sally
I saw an interesting bumper sticker last night. It said, "Why is there always money for war but not for education?" Why is it that way? Why is war so important to our society? Its really depressing. Ill never claim to have all the answers. (Most of them, but not all.) It just seems that, things that would help advance our society, like education so clearly does, should be at the forefront of out governments priorities. Instead we get unfunded education programs like No Child Left Behind, and start unnecessary wars in countries that have done nothing to us. Especially in a time when the lower educated citizens of our country are being forced to take low paying service jobs because the jobs they had are gone to China. It angers me. Im very angry. I guess the bottom line is this: Stop putting bumper stickers on your car that make me think, because I havent been educated enough to think it through properly, and Ill probably just wind up bombing someone.

Oh yeah and thanks to this guy for the picture of the baby.
it is time we start asking our elected representatives these questions.
in america, the #1 concern is safety. to me, it's something i know i can never truly have, so i don't bother worrying about it. i could be gunned down, killed in a car wreck, or electrocuted about as easily as i could be blown up in an act of terrorism. more so, actually. so why, then, are we not waging wars on guns, cars, and electricity? that would be silly, right? the war on terrorism is silly. a war on an idea is silly. a war without end is silly. i believe that terrorists should be brought to justice, but not at the cost of innocent lives. never. that's counterproductive. but we allow it, and some of us even think it's a good thing if it means gas prices come down.
It's all about the oil. The rest is "shock and awe".
Hmm.Interesting that gas prices haven't gone down. I am definatelhy at the point where I feel this "war" should be over. We're judt pissing people in the rest of the world off. Oh sure, not the PM of the UK, but a lot of the Iranians/ Middle Easterners are getting sick of "America"
