"I want candy. I want cake. I want donuts. I want fruit snacks. I want sugar, Sugar, SUGAR!"

pouting_unique_halloween_co.jpgThe new guy at work got his first taste of warranty work today. He did an alignment, which usually is the best paying job for the amount of time it takes, and when he was looking at his commission he saw that he didnt get paid anything for it. Well he was pissed. Blah, blah, blah. Im not doing any more warranty work. Blah, blah, blah. Im going to find out who did the work in the first place and they owe me the commission. Blah, blah, blah. If Im not getting paid for this then Im taking this rim (pointing to one of the display models on the wall.)

After the initial anger subsided, I explained to him that hes going to have to get used to doing warranty work. If something comes in and the tech who messed it up is in then by all means give it to them. But if theyre not there, and its the next job, youre stuck doing it. He goes on to say that thats bull shit. Where I used to work blah, blah, blah. Then I told him he doesnt work there anymore. This is how its done here. And hes either going to have to change or find another job because thats just how it is.

A little while later, he was waiting for one of the other techs to finish using one of the specialty tools so that he could do another alignment. He was so upset about this that he sat down on his tool cart, arms and legs crossed and pouted. It was so funny. I dont know that Ive ever seen a grown man pout before. I imagine that its something like what happens when a child is taken off of their sugar habit. It was awesome.

Maybe Were Crazy

unloadingbananasl.jpgI went in to work at 730 this morning. 2 of the other techs were there at 730 as well so the 3 of us could unload the truck before we opened at 800. The store manager was scheduled to open so he should have been there at 730 as well. Well 735 rolls around and hes still not there so the 3 of us start unloading everything and put it in the parking lot so the driver can get to his next stop. Around 830 (yes half an hour after were supposed to be open) some of the customers waiting up front come to the back (where we are hiding) and ask whats going on. We explain that our shit head manager is now over an hour late and that until he gets he we cant get into the store. By this time at least 4 customers have left angry and the remaining 2 have been in better moods. Its now 845 and an ugly red Ford Escort pulls up with our fearless leader. I decided that today would be a good day to take a personal day and told him that I was doing so. He said OK and I went home.

Hazy Shade of Winter

strangeweather2a.jpgI left work early today. There was no business and we did a little cleaning so I left. When I got home I was really hot so I decided to go for a swim. It was nice. Its finally cold enough for swimming. (I think it only got to 91 today.) While I was swimming it started to rain a little bit. There was about half a cloud in the sky and it was directly above the pool and that one cloud decided to rain for about 64 seconds. Thats all. Perfectly sunny sky all around, 1 minute of rain. Very strange.

Hope is a Letter That Never Arrived

pf_1522133best-friends-posters.jpgIn this post, I was under the impression that one of my coworkers was no longer a coworker. Well I was wrong. Hes back on the schedule for next week. It really amazes me. Sure the guy is a good tech and very pleasant to work with, but he doesnt show up to tech or work with. He hates it there and has been trying to get fired. Well I dont know what happened yesterday, but hes on the schedule. So I guess the way it goes is you can show up whenever you want, do shitty work and there are no consequences. Well I tell you what. If I get any shit about needing xmas week off for going back to the MI, then Im going to raise so much hell. I show up when scheduled, work hard while Im at work, and do good work. Do I feel entitled? Yes I do.

The Pain is Right Now And Right Here

jitcrunchaspx.jpgDansy came up today and we hung out and played some DnD. Im using the word some very liberally. Neil originally said we would be able to start the playing around 300pm local time. Well, blah blah blah blah, we didnt really get going until about 630-700. In the end we had a good session, but its annoying that, due to current circumstances (about 2000 miles of land between the players and the DM) it becomes difficult to gain focus. At times its actually impressive how efficient the Google Talk facilitated DnD can be, but at other times its really annoying.

At any rate, during the down time, I stumbled across something I never finished from along time ago. Zac put some serious effort into converting one of Matts drawings into a tshirtable image and I had everything all ready to go in the shop but never publicized it. So here it is. If your DM is having trouble keeping his focus, get you some of these cool things. He should straighten right up.

Break Down, Go Ahead and Give It To Me

story.jpgI was sitting in the office at work today on my lunch break and the boss came in and started making next weeks schedule. We were talking about how some of the techs really suck. Some dont show up for their shifts, others always come in late and one breaks every car she touches. He tells me that she complained about only getting 30 hours this week and wondered why all the guys got all their hours. He asked her is she really wanted to make it about gender and explained that it was because she calls in at least once a week. I thought it was funny. Then I thought, what if she were to press charges and it went to court. If I was the judge, Id require her to prove she was a woman. She certainly hasnt convinced me. Then I think that if, god forbid, I ever did see proof, I would probably have to gouge my eyes out.
