Take One Bite Now, Spit Out the Rest
It looks like weve one less tech at work. One of the guys who has a lot of trouble showing up on time or at all is not on the schedule next week. Now, he isnt on the schedule this week either, but he was never fired, just not scheduled. Well because he has full time status with the company he is entitled to 30 hours a week. Unless the company is going to fire or suspend him he can com in and work what ever he wants if hes not scheduled. So thats what hes been doing this week. Well, he saw that hes not scheduled again next week and got pissed off. Itd be one thing if they would fire him, but our boss doesnt have the balls to do that. So he put in for all his vacation time and personal days and is going to look for another job. Next week.

That Was A Wonderful Remark
The district manager came in to work. Apparently our boss was told to hire more people because our shop looks like shit. So they want him to hire more people even though hes maxed out on hours and doesnt have enough for the people he has. People in high places are idiots.
Now I agree that we need more people. We need more sales people and more low level techs. We have plenty of high level techs. Perhaps to many. Well I guess he hired a new high level tech and he starts on Wednesday. Fucking great. There isnt enough work to go around as it is. Now I have another person to compete with. Hopefully this means the boss plans on weeding out some of the less desirable employees.

Shining Up My Saddle
Sunday Jaime and I went to look for a new saddle for my "new" bike. First we went to Target. They had the seats but no seats posts. I was afraid that might happen. Next we went to REI. They had everything we needed. Apparently you cant just walk in and buy a seat post. They come in about 64 different diameters which vary by .2mm. After talking to the guys there about it for a couple minutes it was decided that I would go back and get the bike and they would measure it for me. 27.0mm is the diameter the bike requires. So I get my post and head over to the saddle section. For those of you who dont know, REI is a high end athletic goods store. This is why they have things like seat posts. They also had a selection of nearly 20 saddle. They ranged in price from $30 to $200. I reluctantly bought the $30 seat. Its very comfortable. My ride to work had increased in comfort 10 fold due to my upgrade in bike and seat.

Heart Attack Man
Ive set a new personal record low. Im under 190 pounds for the first time in years. I dont know when the last time I saw 18x on the scale was but its a beautiful site. When we moved to Phoenix I was hovering around 200 and when the family was in town in January and we were eating out every day I got up to 207. I am now about half way to where I realistically would like to be, in the low to mid 170s. Ideally Id like to get down to 164 but I like food to much and exercising to little to make that a realistic goal.
I havent had to make any major lifestyle changes to do this either. Nothing I dislike anyway, and that keeps me optimistic. I walk the dogs every morning. I ride my bike about 5 miles round trip on days I work. I drink weight loss shakes for breakfast and lunch on days I work. We drink almost exclusively diet soda. And I dont eat after 8pm. We still eat good tasty dinners with no regard to trans fat and carb count. Budget permitting we will eat out or get a pizza. It seems to be working pretty good. I have a feeling Im going to have to step it up to get under 180 but Ill address that when the weight stops going down.
